Saddle Creek Ranch offers horseback riding with a difference,
riding western style on well trained, obedient and calm trail horses, with various rides in to the bushveld and mountain foothills.

All the rides are accompanied by the owners and trained staff.
For the beginner the emphasis is on a safe, relaxed and enjoyable ride on horses that will not “run away” with you.
The experienced rider can choose a more “spirited horse”
for a lively, exhilarating ride.

We are aware of clients past bad experiences with horses that are difficult to control and for that reason we are careful to “match”
rider and horse, taking into account their past riding experience.
Before leaving all the inexperienced riders will have the basic horse commands explained to them and trail guide/staff member
will be close to them throughout the ride

 

Horseback Trail Ride Times :
• Trail durations are approximate.


• Riders are advised to wear suitable clothing; jeans, takkies or boots


• Hats and suntan cream are essential in summer


• Payment is to be made before the ride


• Riding helmets are available on request


• Please arrive 30 minutes before the ride time.

 

Saturday/Sunday times: 9.00am 11.00am and 2.00pm.
Weekdays: Wednesday,Thursday and Friday 11.00am and 2.00pm

  • 1 hour Farm and Bush trail – R300pp includes photos onto a CD
  • 1,5 hours trail ride R350 - Includes photos onto a CD and a framed glossy A5 photo of each couple
  • Champagne Picnic Ride 2,5 hours – R650pp - Includes photos onto a CD and a framed A5 photo of each couple. Picnic food and champagne.
  • Add On 1 hour trail ride for kids @ R300per child + Young children can join a ride, and if necessary the horse will be led by a staff member to ensure their safety (R100. supplement)

Corporate Fun Adventures

Corporate Activities

Our activities are themed as much as possible around horses, horse riding and related fun games. You will be assured of attentive service from our staff and trail guides during you visit to Saddle Creek Ranch. We have been operating for the past 5 years and have a wealth of knowledge relating to all the activities offered. We normally start our adventure activities at 10.00am, with a lunch break from 12.30pm to 2.00pm and end the fun day at 4,00pm. We divide the participants into groups for all the activities, creating a competitive spirit and there will be a prize giving at the end of the day to the best all round performers in each activity. Included in the exciting package is a Cap, T-shirt and a CD with photos of the day to take with you.

Horse Riding – R300/R350

 

All our horses are well trained and are suitable for complete beginners and we specialize in guests who have never ridden before. All the trail rides are accompanied by two or more experienced trail guides. We have staff available that can walk next to and lead the really nervous rider. The safety and comfort of all our riders is of the utmost importance and we will set the pace of the ride according to the riders wishes, be it or leisurely walk, a quicker trot or slow canter.
 

Archery R150

Archery is a fun and challenging team building event which anyone can master quickly. Instructors will be on hand to show you the basics on how to safely handle the bow and where to aim. Once everyone is confident about the basics the participants can be divided into teams competing against other. Afterwards an individual shoot out can also be arranged. This team building event is sure to be a memorable experience fostering healthy competition and a good test of skills. We’ll create a fun and interactive event where each group will shoot many arrows, bond and laugh! It’s perfect for all ages, genders and management levels for your employees.

Rodeo Bull Rides R300

Yee Ha! Ride ‘em cowboy! This ride actually simulates
Riding a bucking bull. You will need all your strength and
ability to stay on. Electronically controlled and surrounded
by an inflatable bed for safety. Perfect for any occasion

Mechanical Bull - A great and safe way to try out your
Rodeo skills. This is an activity for both young and old and is sure to provide loads of entertainment.

 

With expert control over the bull, our operators ensure the
Highest level of safety.

Paintball R250

Target shooting

Inflatable paintball shooting tunnel. We use modified paintball guns to shoot plastic balls to a target at the end of an inflatable tunnel.

 

Paintball games

Paintball is a game, in which players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by hitting them with capsules containing paint from a gas-powered device called a paintball marker. A game field is scattered with natural or artificial terrain, which players use for strategic play. Rules for playing paintball vary, but can include capture the flag, elimination, defending or attacking a particular point or area, or capturing objects of interest hidden in the playing area.

From Sandton, Randburg and Pretoria. Approx 45/60 mins.

Turn onto the N14 Pretoria—Krugersdorp highway and go towards Krugersdorp.

Pass Lanseria off ramp.

Pass Randburg off ramp and travel 8km. To next intersection with robots (Pinehaven Sasol garage)

Turn right. Go 8 km to T-Junction (Oaktree Zenex garage)

Turn right. ***

Go 20 km to Hekpoort T-Junction.

Turn right towards Hartbeespoort.

Go 2 km and turn left onto sand road, Sign to Hartebeesfontein.

Go 2,5 km to our gate on left.

FROM ROODEPOORT. Approx. 45 mins.

Hendrik Potgeiter  past  Clearwater Mall go 12 km. to next intersection with N14 Pine haven  Sasol.

Go straight over and go for another 8 km to T-Junction Oaktree Zenex. Turn right and follow above directions.***

 

FROM MAGALIESBURG. Approx. 20 mins.

Leave town on the R24 towards Rustenburg, go 3 km. and turn right at Lovers Rock to Hekpoort.

Go 8 km to T junction (R563) turn left, go 3 km.to T junction (R560) turn right towards Hartbeespoort.

Go 2  km. turn left on to sand road to Hartebeesfontein.

Go 2,5 km. to our gate on left.

FROM HARTBEESPOORT. Approx.20/25 mins. DAM WALL SIDE  Mt. Amanzi  etc.

From 4 way stop next to Chamelion Village (Engen garage and Wimpy) follow  R560 to Magaliesburg. You will pass the dam on your left. Proceed

for about 6 kms.

Pass through Skeerpoort, go 15 kms and take sand road right to Hartebeesfontein, you will see one of our signs” HORSE TRAIL RIDES.

Go 2,5 kms to our farm on the left  

 

FROM PECANWOOD SIDE OF THE DAM

Pass Pecanwood  (the dam will be on your right) go 6km. to T Junction turn left onto R560 and proceed through Skeerpoort and follow the above
